Loren Cameron's newest book in e-book format.
Photographer Loren Cameron has a second book — available only on the World Wide Web.OK.... it may seem unusual to publish a photo book in this manner, but Cameron has some very good reasons for doing so.
Publishing a photography book these days, especially a full-color photo book, is not as easy as one might think. Bare in mind that the huge expense of publishing and printing must be born by someone. If the publishers are not willing to incur the cost of printing, the author must find other ways to get the work to the consumer. The Web is great for the grass roots!
Cameron's work, MAN TOOL: The Nuts and Bolts of Female-to-Male Surgery, is a much needed compilation of photos and first-hand accounts of surgical body modifications. Included are chest reconstruction, phalloplasties and metoidioplasties. In addition, there is one no-op, hormonally augmented, man featured in this publication. I feel that the addition of this 'option' is an important and valid one.
MAN TOOL is a serious and very compelling work. The photos and interviews are a beautiful glimpse into the world of transmen and their bodies. Cameron gets "2 thumbs up" from me!
