Materials:
2 containers - empty margarine tubs work well
measuring cup marked in ounces
hot water
stirring spoon
1 container Elmer's white glue - 4 oz size is fine
1 small box Borax Booster (20 Mule Team Borax - get the smallest box you can find)
tap water
1 marker penDirections:
Label each of the 2 containers, one A and the other B.
Measure 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of the tap water and pour into container A.
Measure 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of the Elmer's glue and add to the water in container A.
Stir the contents of container A thoroughly for at least one minute, then set aside.
Measure 16 ounces (2 cups) of hot water and pour into container B.
Measure 1 ounce (1/8 cup) of the Borax and add to the water in container B.
Stir the contents of container B until thoroughly dissolved and set aside for 2 minutes.
Measure 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of the dissolved Borax solution from container B.
Pour the measured amount into container A and IMMEDIATELY begin stirring.
Stir until the mix turns into a well mixed glob of gooey stuff.The "GAK" will be white. It can be colored with food coloring to a semi flesh color by using approximately 8 drops of yellow, 6 drops of red and 2 drops of green. Or experiment and find the color you like best. Keep any unused GAK stored in a closed container.
