Georgie Jessup

Georgie Jessup is a singer-songwriter who plays guitar, and piano/organ with the following supporting groups to promote her original music:

SWEET GRASS SMOKE

Georgie Jessup and mandolin player, David Salyer. This duo presents Georgie's music in an acoustic format but with the same impact that an electric act commands. Songs from Georgie's full-length album AMERICAN HOLOCAUST have been arranged to give the most exciting presentation possible with a mandolin and guitar. In addition, other songs from Georgie's repertoire have been re-worked in a similar fashion, including pieces from Georgie's work with Winkte & Crazy Sacrd Dogs. New songs have been composed with the guitar and mandolin in mind.

Wintke & Crazy Sacred Dogs

This band was actually formed prior to the AMERICAN HOLOCAUST album and most of the songs on it were in pre-production with the Crazy Sacred Dogs. In fact, the song "Fools Crow" was first recorded with this band. Georgie also recorded a five song EP with Winkte & Crazy Sacred Dogs. "Post Op Freeway" from AMERICAN HOLOCAUST, has always been a crowd pleaser. Barry Warsaw (bass), El Toro Gamble (drums), and Tommy Derr (guitar) have worked together for many years on various projects. They come together as the Crazy Sacred Dogs and provide Jessup with a back up band that rocks with soul! Each song has their imprint in addition to Georgies'. Eve Ziebart of the Washington Post said of their performance, "...cold soul, thrill seeking, Motown social-conscience funk."

Once you have heard Georgie Jessup's songs, you will agree with author and activist Leslie Feinberg who insists "...my sister warrior, I will remain your ally and your friend until every battle's won... in the spirit of Crazy Horse and Stonewall."
